From the dom, take the path that heads southwest, and within 50m reach a junction. Take the right fork, signed Triglavski dom 1hr. Within a short distance the path begins a rising traverse towards the ridge between Rž and Kredarica, and height is slowly gained above the wild karst landscape. A section of descent protected with steel cables brings you to a gap on the ridge crest.

The route now crosses to the left-hand side of the ridge, traversing it with more sections of cable and pegs before regaining the crest and easier ground. Eventually the path bears down and left, as it passes close to the large, cutstone block marking Kredarica’s summit (2541m), before arriving at the big Triglavski dom (2515m) (stamp, although this stamp can also be obtained on Day 3 at either Dom Planika or Tržaška koča na Dolič). The Triglavski dom is one of the biggest – it can sleep 200 people! It is permanently manned as a weather station, but regular opening to all-comers is from the middle of June to the end of September. In spite of its size it is always busy, and it is advisable to book in advance. Water is rainwater only.
